Discover the world that Jane Austen lived in and chronicalled. Jane's world was the world of the Regency. The balls, the handsome men and the scoundrels were all part of it. But this was a time of tumultuous change. The handsome soliders in their red uniforms were off to fight and die in the Napoleonic wars; the genteel tea sipped in parlours came from the ruthless trading of the East India Company that was creating wealth, havoc and addiction across the globe.
